Gerald’s aims for his Foundation

Gerald Asamoah

According to estimates, about one in 100 children are affected by heart malformations. The Foundation aims to help these children and their families. In Germany, approx. 85% of the children affected reach adulthood if they receive the right medical care. In Africa, the chances of these children surviving are much lower. That is why the Foundation has decided to focus its efforts on places where children are particularly in need.

The Gerald Asamoah Foundation supports selected projects. These could be research programmes or national and international aid projects. Gerald’s personal long-term goal is to establish a children’s heart centre in Accra (Ghana) which will help the poorest of families and give them hope.

“The fact that a professional footballer like Gerald is helping the smallest of children in their fight for life gives them a great deal of courage“
Prof. Dr. med. Axel Haverich, heart specialist
